According to railway minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmed From Rawalpindi to Karachi traveling time less than 24 hours to 10 hours, Lahore travel will be only two and a half hours.
With the cooperation of China, the development of Pakistan Railways, Railway Line One (ML One) project designed for high-speed trains has been decided to start in 2020 next year.
Under this mega project, 1874 km new track will be laid from Peshawar to Karachi and the existing track will be upgraded according to modern requirements. This mega project will be completed in 3 phases by 2 years 202, cost of that mega project estimated of 8.2 Dollars.
The train speed will increase from the current 60km to 160km and the journey from Rawalpindi to Karachi will be reduced from 24 hours to 10 hours, while Lahore will be reduced to just two and a half hours.
Federal Minister for Railways Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed said that in the first phase, the 183-km track route from Nawabshah to Rohri, 157km from Lala Musa to Rawalpindi and 42km from Peshawar to Nowshera would be two-way, in the second phase 339 from Multan to Lahore. Lala Musa 132km from Km, Lahore and 182km from Karachi to Hyderabad will be two-track.
A five-foot fence will also be installed on both sides of the railway track from Shore to Karachi to eliminate all kinds of crossings, 13,000 small and large railways will be eliminated, 2800 railway gates will be eliminated
PM Imran Khan and the Chinese leadership will jointly lay the foundation stone of this mega project; the Singh Foundation event is expected in the next four months, the final date will be announced in December.
