The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) said Friday it knew about the reports relating to a hacking programming focusing on WhatsApp clients.
In an announcement gave on Twitter, the PTA said it had “taken up the issue with WhatsApp the executives”.
It added that it proposed to “get the details of clients that were focused in Pakistan yet in addition to have a report on the healing measures taken by WhatsApp to anticipate” similar incident in the future.
“The general population is encouraged to overhaul the WhatsApp application to most recent form and keep the gadget Operating System modern so as to stay away from such occurrences.
Affected individuals are requested to contact PTA at content-complaint@pta.gov.pk,” it added.
