A Holiday Announced by The State Bank on Wednesday

The State Bank of Pakistan announces a general holiday of the banks for annual closing of accounts on January 1, 2020.

Meanwhile, National Bank’s authorized branches and State Bank’s Banking Services Corporation’s field offices will be open until 9pm on Tuesday, December 31, to collect government receipts, duties and taxes.

According to the State Bank, the branches of National Bank of Pakistan will settle their transactions on the same day, December 31, 2019, with the relevant SBPBBCC headquarters, for which NIFT (NIFT) arranged a special clearing at 7pm.

The State Bank has instructed all banks to keep their respective branches open till December 31, 2019 (Tuesday), until the special clearing for public transactions is completed.
