On Sunday, President of the Federal Revenue Board (FBR), Prime Minister Imran Khan announced a Tax Incentive Package on traders on 20 January 2020.
“The prime minister will formally announce the concessions given to traders community,” the FBR chairman said in a tweet message.
On 30 October 2019, the FBR signed an agreement to address tax issues in that segment of the economy with small traders and shopkeepers.
Both sides agreed on an eleven-point agreement including a simplified return on revenue tax and a flat rate to facilitate the discharge of liabilities by small traders.
The President of the FBR, on leave for January 2006 to January 19 2020, said the Prime Minister also required the trader group to collaborate in order to contribute to the national economy.
The President also said the Prime Minister is going to chair the traders ‘ meeting in Prime Minister House, Islamabad, on 20 January 2020.
