The December 2019 sell of passenger cars stood at a rate of 9,987, compared to 8,373 units, which is 17.1% higher than the previous month’s sales and 38.12% lower than the previous year’s same month.
In the first half of 2020, overall sales were reported in 59,097 units, up by approximately 43.19 percent compared to the 104,038 units sold in the previous year, according to a monthly report by the Pakistan Automotive Manufacturing Association (PAMA).
The maximum sales of 4,616 units in Dec. and 28,145 units in 1HFY20 were achieved in the category of’ below 1000cc’ engines. The maximum sales were recorded by Suzuki Alto in December at 3,700 units, and 1HFY20 at 23,658 units.
In December and 19,797 units were sold in 1HFY20, with Toyota Corolla making the most revenues, followed by Honda and later by Suzuki Swift, for the category of’ 1300cc and above.’
On the contrary, the ‘1000cc’ category witnessed a sale of 2,125 units in December and 11,155 units in 1HFY20, wherein Suzuki WagonR made the highest sales at 1,207 units and 4,545 units in the respective periods.
