As a result of the improved security situation in Pakistan, Pakistan has been listed as one of the best tourism destinations by leading magazines like Forbes and Condé Nast Traveler.
Now the UK has revised its travel advise to its people traveling in Pakistan, the first time since 2015, in another welcome news for Pakistan’s tourism industry
The latest development has come as a result of “the result of a comprehensive review of UK travel advice for Pakistan, based on a wide-ranging assessment of the country’s security situation.”
“Following my arrival in December 2019, I made this review of the travel advice a priority. It is great credit to the hard work of the Government of Pakistan in delivering improved security over the past five years. I am delighted that British nationals will be able to see more of what Pakistan has to offer,” Dr Christian Turner, British High Commissioner to Pakistan
In addition to the Kalesh and Bamboret Valleys, UK Government has allowed its people to move on the road to the north of Pakistan.
Recently, Pakistan was also added to the list of countries that need to be visited in 2020 by a leading British Travel Magazine–the Wanderlust. Pakistan has been ranked number 7 by the weekly.
“This is great news as it will address two most important economic issues facing Pakistan today: employment & our current account deficit, by bringing in tourism & investment which in turn will provide employment opportunities especially for our youth,” Prime Minister Imran Khan tweeted.
Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi also lauded the announcement. “This change in travel advice is encouraging and will further strengthen Pakistan-UK relations,” he wrote in a tweet.
In addition, forbes also classified Pakistan as one of the best’ under-radar trips in 2020′ earlier this month.
