4 Pakistani Students Diagnosed with Coronavirus in China: Dr. Zafar Mirza

Special Health Services Assistant to Prime Minister Dr Zafar Mirza reported on Wednesday that there have been diagnosed coronavirus in four Pakistani students living in Chinese province, Wuhan.

The special assistant said that no confirmed case of novel coronavirus from any part of Pakistan was reported at the Islamabad press conferencing. He added: Headache, fever, cough and respiratory infections are signs of this deadly virus.

Dr. Zafar Mirza said that three out of 100 people are attacked by the virus and that 97 remain uninfluenced.

Earlier, the specialist said that the utmost alertness remains and the Federal Ministry of Health’s Emergency Operation Cell monitors the situation 24 hours after the event.

The well-trained healthcare personnel at airports in Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad were equipped with thermoscanners and thermo weapons to screen all passengers from China by air.

Dr Zafar further said instructions have also been given to all major hospitals to make arrangements to receive possible cases of the virus and provide them necessary treatment. 

It is to be mentioned here that three persons admitted to the Services Hospital were Chinese, hailing from Wuhan, the epicenter of the coronavirus outbreak, and their relevant samples were sent to a laboratory in Hong Kong for confirmation.
