As part of her project, a female IT student at Faisalabad Government College develops smart shoes for people with impairments of the vision.
The smart shoes will detect any incoming hurdles within the 200 cm radius in the way and intimate the wearer with real-time notification along with sound and vibration in the shoes.
It costs Rs10,000 to 12,000 to develop this kind of shoes, however, the cost could be minimized if it is produced on a large scale. Samaa has posted a video providing demonstration of smart shoes.
