Huawei is Bringing Its Search APP to Replace Google’s Search Engine

Though Google complaints about itself to the US government, Huawei remains unable to use Mountain View services. For some months, the Google Ecosystem between the apps and services has been lost to Huawei and Honor.

The business has been pushed, from the AppGallery instead of the Play Store, to remove these elements slowly at this stage. The path to the app platform podium continues to be long, but the effects are already becoming evident. Around the main social networks more and more features are being introduced.

Huawei Mobile Services (HMS) aims to provide complete mobile experience to Huawei and Honor device users. With official services such as Mobile Cloud, AppGallery, Video, Themes, ScreenMagazine and etc. which comes along with EMUI operating system.

The absence of Google entails a whole series of penalties: Squid in place of Google News, Huawei Assistant in place of Google Assistant, but also the impossibility of using Google Search. One of the basic elements is the famous Big G search engine, not only via browser but also with the dedicated app. In its place, Huawei Search will intervene shortly, the alternative designed to compensate for this absence.

As the first screenshots show, Huawei Search will be a new app that will become part of Huawei Mobile Services. Inside we can carry out quick searches, as well as having shortcuts for weather, sports results, unit conversion and calculator. The results obtained can also be filtered by categories such as videos, news and images, allowing a more widespread search.
