Ulema in Pakistan Advises Prayers at Home

Speeches in Urdu during Friday prayers should end, in addition to restricting Arab sermons to a minimum level and offering Sunnah the five prayers at home, says a religious decree issued by ‘Darul Afta’ of the Pakistan Ulema Council (PUC) , Wafaqul Madaris Pakistan and Ulema from various schools of thought at a meeting chaired by Allama Tahir Mehmood Ashrafi.

The decree says that all religious and political gatherings should be suspended / restricted immediately to prevent the spread of the deadly coronavirus in the country.

He says that enough space should be guaranteed between the mosques’ prayer rugs (Saf), adding that joint prayers should be offered on the bare floor and the floors should be cleaned with soap and surf before offering each prayer.

“Older people and children should offer prayers at home. The ablation centers of all mosques should be thoroughly cleaned. Soaps and disinfectants should be placed in the ablation centers. “

The decree called on philanthropists to donate soaps and disinfectants in mosques to benefit people.

The Ulema urged to adopt the principles of Islamic Sharia to protect themselves from the deadly COVID-19.

“Preventive measures are not Islamic. Handshaking and hugging are not mandatory, rather than just saying Assallamaalaikum to friends and others during meetings, “the decree reads. “People should use masks, disinfectants, as precautionary measures.”
