Sindh Education Minister Saeed Ghani has tested positive for COVID-19 and went into self-isolation as part of precautionary measure to stop the spread of highly-contagious disease.
He made the announcement on Monday in a video statement uploaded on his official Twitter handle.
“I underwent test for the novel coronavirus yesterday [Sunday] and surprisingly I tested positive for it [COVID-19],” he said, adding that he did not exhibit any symptoms of the contagion.
“If possible quarantine yourself,” he asked his contacts to save their family and friends from contracting the contagion.
A day earlier, the Sindh government had officially imposed a “complete ban” on the public movement in a bid to effectively implement the social distancing measures to curb the spread of coronavirus.
