The bodies of all those who died in Mumbai due to the coronavirus are cremated irrespective of the religion of the deceased, said city council.
In that respect, the commissioner of Praveen Pardeshi, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), released a circular.
The circular notes that, regardless of their religion, the bodies of individuals who died of COVID-19 are cremated.
It is also stated that only five people should attend a COVID-19 patient’s funeral and that body touch procedures should be avoided.
BMC Chief also stated that if someone insisted to bury the body of the deceased who dies with COVID-19, they will only be permitted if the body is taken out of Mumbai city’s jurisdiction.

Earlier, Pakistan has urged the Indian government to end the communication blackout in occupied Jammu and Kashmir in view of the threat posed by coronavirus.
Foreign Office Spokesperson Aisha Farooqui expressed deep concerns over the continued communication blackout in the occupied territory.
