To counter the proliferation of Covid-19, the Faisalabad Campus (UET-FSD) Department of Textile Engineering University has developed successful biological anti-bacterial facemasks.
Such masks are made of specific non-woven polypropylene fabric according to the World Health Organization (WHO) recommendation.
The key properties of the facemask include air permeability, thickness, tensile strength, water repellency, tear strength and microscopic analysis as per international standards.
Prof Sarwar said UET had contributed to the country’s development and willing to support the government of Pakistan in developing cost and performance effective bio based anti-bacterial facemasks.
