Covid-19 Claimed 58 Deaths in Pakistan

The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Pakistan rose to 4,072 on Wednesday after new infections were confirmed in the country.

The province-wise break up of the total number of cases as of 10:19am, April 8, is as follows:

The worldwide number of officially confirmed fatalities from the novel coronavirus now stands at above 81,000, according to a Reuters tally.

More than 1 million declared cases have been registered in 213 countries and territories since the epidemic first emerged in China in December. Of these cases, at least 253,000 are now considered recovered.

The New York City’s death toll from the coronavirus has risen past 4,000, eclipsing the number killed at the World Trade Centre on 9/11. In Britain, Prime Minister Boris Johnson lies in intensive care, believed to be the first major world leader hospitalized with the virus.
