Nubia Play Gaming Phone with 144Hz Display, 5G Support Launched: Price, Specifications

ZTE smartphone manufacturer Nubia unveiled yesterday its new gaming-oriented smartphone in China, with a whopping 144 Hz display becoming the most affordable handset.

Nubia Play 5G is Nubia’s second gaming phone in just a few weeks’ time. However, the Nubia Play 5 G is a middle-range system in comparison with the launch of the recently released Nubia Red Magic 5 G with Galaxy S20 specs.

Nubia Play Price

The Nubia Play has been priced at CNY 2,699, which is roughly Rs 30,000, for the lonesome storage variant. It comes in only a black colour model. It will go up for pre-orders starting Tuesday, April 21 via JD.com while the sales of the smartphone are slated to begin after three days in China. As we said, Nubia has not said anything on the smartphone’s global availability.

Nubia Play Specifications

The Nubia Play is packed with some top-of-the-line specifications that have been deemed adequate for intensive gaming. The smartphone has a 6.65-inch AMOLED display with a refresh rate of 144Hz and an in-display fingerprint sensor. There is a touch sampling rate of 240Hz, much like the Red Magic 5.

There is no punch-hole or notch on the display, which means there are reasonably thick bezels on the top and bottom chins of the phone. The Nubia Play is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G processor paired with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage.

Cameras

At the back, Nubia Play 5G boasts a quad sensor camera system with 48MP main Sony IMX582 shooter joined by an 8MP ultrawide snapper, a 2 MP macro sensor, and a 2 MP depth sensor. On the front, it features a 12 MP shooter for selfies.
