In a budget proposal for the upcoming fiscal year 2020-21, the All Pakistan Motor Dealers Association (APMDA) has requested that the government allow the import of 660CC used cars. The cars in question are relatively cost-effective and fuel-efficient.
The APMDA added that these cars will be beneficial to the middle class especially since the coronavirus outbreak hundreds of thousands of Pakistanis have lost their livelihood.
The association, in pursuant to this, has sent a letter to Hammad Azhar, the Federal Minister for Industries and Production requesting that local dealers be allowed to import used cars commercially on the same regulations as local assemblers.
The APMDA Chairman said, “Our demands are not for framing new policy but to make changes in the existing one.”
