Covid-19: New Cases Rises in Sindh as Test Capacity Increased

The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Pakistan rose to 15,759 on Wednesday after new infections were confirmed in the country.

Pakistan saw a total of 874 new coronavirus cases in the country, up 5.8% from last day when new additions were reported to be around 806.

Of all the new cases, almost half or 404 cases were reported from Sindh only, while Punjab added 234 to its tally. KP reported 153 new coronavirus cases and Balochistan added 63 new positive cases to its total.

The province-wise break up of the total number of cases as of 9:00am, April 30, is as follows:

Total confirmed cases: 15,759

  • Sindh: 5,695
  • Punjab: 6,061
  • Khyber Pakhtunkhwa: 2,313
  • Balochistan: 978
  • Islamabad Capital Territory: 313
  • Gilgit-Baltistan: 333
  • AJK: 66

Deaths: 346

  • Khyber Pakhtunkhwa: 122
  • Sindh: 100
  • Balochistan: 14
  • Gilgit-Baltistan: 3
  • Punjab: 103
  • Islamabad Capital Territory: 4
