Govt to Conduct The First Ever Exam for Vacant CSS Seats

For the first time in Pakistan, special examinations will be conducted on vacant seats of Civil Superior Services (CSS) across the country.

Special Assistant to Prime Minister in Establishment, Arbab Shehzad, said this in a TV interview on Monday. He said that on the directives of Prime Minister Imran Khan, a special exam will be conducted for recruitment on 188 vacant seats across the country.

Arbab said that the examinations for 41 seats of Sindh, 49 seats of Balochistan, 22 seats of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), and 16 seats of Gilgit-Baltistan (GB) and newly-merged tribal districts will be taken during the month of November this year if the coronavirus situation in the country improves.

He highlighted that matters have been finalized with the chairman of the Federal Public Service Commission and that it will be the first time in history that vacant CSS seats will be filled by a mid-term examination.

Previously, the unfulfilled seats remained vacant for the rest of the year and were added back to the provincial quotas for the next year.
