A much needed reality check for us. The virus that originated from Wuhan, China ensues less cases than Pakistan now. Since the government’s decision to ease lockdown in Pakistan, the situation has turned rather chaotic and panic stricken. Today, our country has reported highest number of cases reaching almost five thousand.
Around 20,167 tests were conducted in the past twenty four hours. Death toll has reached 1788 whereas, 30,128 people have recovered from the rampant virus.
Sindh totals 32910 wherein, 1824 new cases emerged in the last twenty four hours out of 7547 tests conducted. Punjab reports 1615 new cases and total rises to 31104 after 6785 tests were conducted in the province. 356 new cases emerge in Islamabad, KP and Balochistan report 476 and 484 cases respectively.
The situation is worsening day by day, pertaining to the fact that people have become rather ignorant and careless towards defined SOPs. Besides this, doctors were totally against easing the lockdown only because they feared the outcome.
Their worst fear has definitely come true thanks to our attitude towards the pandemic. The government blames people for not following SOPs and letting the situation out of control.
In Wuhan, China where the virus supposedly originates from has the situation under control. Latest sources suggest only one identified COVID-19 case and 78,319 patients have recovered from the rampant virus.
