Pakistan to Start Producing Ventilators in Next Few Weeks

Federal Minister for Science and Technology Fawad Chaudhry Monday said June is the time when Pakistan would hit its peak as far as corona cases are concerned.

Talking to journalists in Faisalabad, the federal minister said the coming weeks are a test of the nation and there is no other way to pass this test other than to make sure that the SOPs are implemented by the administration and precautions are being taken by the general public.

Lauding the journalists, Fawad Chaudhry said the media has played a very pivotal role in combating Corona by spreading the precautionary messages across and now it is now the duty of civilians to act as per the situation.

The federal minister also lauded the health care workers and stated that our limited health setup is working at its full capacity and we are hopeful that this peak starts to decline or else the hospital and isolation centres would become overburdened. He again emphasized on civil responsibility and self-precaution rather than contracting coronavirus.

The minister also updated that in few weeks, Pakistan would start producing its own ventilators and very soon it would move towards dialysis machines as well.

“This would reduce our medical import cost and set up a new industrial sector of medical units in Pakistan. Moreover we are in the process of setting up a 200 acre land specifically for installing manufacturing units for medical devices.”

Fawad Chaudry said that nations can learn and equip themselves in the period of hardship and this is a perfect chance for Pakistan to set up its own medical industry and become self-sufficient in providing effective health care in the country.
