Day of Independence is nearly here! National flags and colored jhandiyaan stalls have already started adorning various city streets. National zeal is high and we can see houses adorned with domestic and national flags sprinkling over the speakers in the next few days. In the following days.
A group of young people, however, have gathered and created a national anthem! The lot was almost put together and the song was collaborated on by various ethnic groups, sects and cities. Daud Ghazi, the producer, shared with The Express Tribume: “We came up with the idea last week.” “My friends and members of my family belong in the anthem.”
The 22-year-old NUST student further shared how they recorded and shot the video on their mobile phones. “We just thought that we should experiment with the anthem – maybe add an instrument or so – and see how it all comes together. And it did!”
Ghazi went on to add that it wasn’t easy to go through with the song as they all couldn’t meet and work on it together. “We couldn’t meet and some of the guys aren’t even in the country. However, we did try to be inclusive and have people from different religions (minorities) and cities.”
