Prime Minister Imran Khan has approved the introduction of ‘Roshan Digital Account’ scheme for Pakistanis living abroad, which will enable Pakistanis abroad to open accounts in any bank in minutes.
The meeting chaired by the Prime Minister was briefed on Roshan Digital Account, facilities, in which it was informed that SBP is introducing Roshan Digital Account in collaboration with 8 major banks, Roshan Digital Account will be introduced in the first week of September.
It was said in the briefing that with this facility, Pakistanis abroad will be able to open an account in any bank in minutes while investment, remittances and payment of bills will be easily available from the digital account.
Referring to the Overseas Ministry’s Special Assistant for Digital Banking Scheme for Overseas Pakistanis, Zulfi Bukhari said that the Prime Minister would formally launch the “Roshan Digital Accounts” project on September 4 to take advantage of the best opportunity for overseas Pakistani investment.

For the first time in history, digital banking facility will be provided to overseas Pakistanis, overseas Pakistanis will be able to make direct bank payments and investments in the country, all commercial banks including SBP will facilitate overseas Pakistanis and modern digital banking to overseas compatriots.
