Vehicle Registration Service Launched at DoorStep in Islamabad

Islamabad Deputy Commissioner Office said that a vehicle registration service at the door of the customer was started by the government. For this operation, the NADRA and the Federal Department of Excise & Taxation (ET&D) National Database and Registration Authority have collaborated.

The customers will not have to wait or stand in any queue through this service, the office said. Furthermore, the timing of this service is 9:00 am to 3:00 pm from Monday to Friday.

According to media reports, the officials will also hand over the vehicles’ registration number plates to the consumers at their doorsteps.

The announcement was initially made in May 2020 to facilitate people during the COVID-19 pandemic. Through this service, the government also wants to avoid the rush at offices. Furthermore, the authorities seek to end the use of unregistered vehicles and to tackle car theft.

The officials said that through this service, the government tends to facilitate the people. The authorities have also provided phone numbers where citizens can contact for this service.
