Punjab Governor, Chaudhry Mohammad Sarwar has inaugurated “Governor House Café” established in a double decker inside the area of the governor house that is opened for public.
The restaurant established in the double decker bus features a kitchen in the lower portion and sitting area in the top one. The governor inaugurated the café on Thursday and had lunch with the kids under the care of Sarwar Foundation, along with his wife. He then later distributed gifts among the children as well.
The governor said that the café will remain open for public and families from 11am to 6pm.
Governor’s wife while talking to the media said that we have only invited a few children for the inauguration of the Governor House Café due to coronavirus, adding that, “We have received a lot of donations and we will use them for their (children) benefit only”.
In addition to the café, Sarwar also inaugurated Quran Garden, Corona Heroes Wall and Sounenir Shop in the governor house as well.
The governor said that the “reason why we have established a Quran Garden in the governor house is to promote Islamic Heritage”.
The Corona Heroes Wall features the names of the individuals who have distributed medicines and food among the needy during the tough times of coronavirus pandemic in the country.
Meanwhile, Mohammed Sarwar also launched the “Winter Appeal” campaign to provide winter clothes to 50,000 poor children across Punjab.
