The M/S More, a subsidiary of the Frontier Works Organisation (FWO), has decided to increase the toll tax rate for Lahore-Islamabad Motorway (M2) by 10 percent from August 26.
Talking to The Nation, a senior officer of the National Highways Authority (NHA) said that NHA had signed a 20-year agreement with the FWO. As per the agreement, the FWO increases toll tax by 10 percent applicable from August 26 every year.
According to the notification, the new toll tax for cars is Rs910 from the previous Rs830.
The M/s More has already displayed new rates on all interchanges that would be effective from 26th of this month. NHA website indicates that toll rates on Islamabad–Peshawar Motorway (M-1) are unchanged since July 2018 and the toll tax for cars from Islamabad to Peshawar is Rs240.
Similarly, the toll tax rates are same on Pindi Bhattian-Shorkot Motorway and toll rate for car is Rs300 while the toll tax on Lahore-Kot Abdul Hakeem Motorway (M-3) is Rs390 and these are unchanged since 2018.
The toll tax for cars from Shorkot-Multan Motorway (M4) is Rs210 and Multan-Sukkur Motorway (M-5) is Rs680 for cars and it is effective from 2018.
The toll rate for Hassan Abdal-Havellian (E35) is Rs60 and for Havellian to Manshera Expressway (E-35) it is Rs70 and this is also effective from 2018.
