New Dress Code Issued for Teachers in Government Educational Institutions in Islamabad

A dress code has been issued for teachers in government educational institutions in Islamabad.
According to a notification issued by the Federal Directorate of Education on Monday, female teachers have been banned from wearing jeans and tights. Male teachers will also be banned from wearing jeans and T-shirts.

Veiled female teachers will be allowed to wear clean scarves and hijabs. The notification said that female teachers were allowed to wear sandals and sneakers while slippers were not allowed. Male teachers will not be allowed to wear warm sheets in winter. Instead, they can wear sweaters and coats in the winter.

“Male teachers wear vwaistcoat with shalwar kameez.” The Federal Directorate of Education has instructed teachers to wear teaching gowns in class and lab coats in the laboratory.

The notification directed the area education officers to ensure implementation of the dress code.

It may be recalled that a few days ago, the MS of Bahawal Victoria Hospital in Bahawalpur district of South Punjab had also issued instructions regarding dress. Dr. Muhammad Younis, MS, BVH, banned jeans for female staff and made dupatta or scarf mandatory.
