Murtaza Wahab, the Administrator of Karachi, announced that the ‘Sunset Cinema‘ will show three films of various genres. The cinema is open only on weekends; Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Tickets and Car Capacity
According to the administration, drive-in cinema means you have to enjoy the movie while sitting in the car. There is a capacity for 150 cars to park for a one-time show.
However, tickets for one car are set for 1000, and for walk-in viewers, the ticket is 300 per head.
Drive-in cinema offering a food court along with a movie show. You can get food from food vendors at reasonable charges. There is also a sitting arrangement if you want to enjoy food while stepping out of the car.
Another company ran drive-in movie theatres in Karachi, Islamabad, and Lahore. The campaigns ran for six weeks in each city, with people driving by in their cars on weekends to watch the shows.
In Lahore, Khayaban-e-Amin carried the dive-in cinema campaign.
Karachi was once famous for its drive-in movie culture. These cinemas were located in different locations of the city like Shirin in Korangi and Kismet in Saddar.
The drive-in cinema idea is not new but it is reviving due to pandemics. As per SOPs of covid-19, this is the best solution to entertain the public as it is also good for the media industry to survive.
