We have officially entered the year 2022, and the first month of the year, January, has begun. Many smartphones are expected to be released this month around the world. Big brands like Samsung, OnePlus, Xiaomi, Realme, Vivo, and Oppo have confirmed phone launches.
Lenovo is also expected to release gamer-focused phones, premium devices from iQOO, and a couple of budget phones from brands such as Tecno. So, without further ado, let’s go over the list.
1- Lenovo Legion Y90
Lenovo’s Legion Y90 gaming smartphone will be available in China. The smartphone surfaced in a number of rumors, revealing its key specifications and design. The Legion Y90, like the company’s previous Legion Phone 2 Pro, may have a landscape form factor. It is expected to have a 6.92-inch Samsung E4 AMOLED display with a refresh rate of 144Hz and a touch sampling rate of 720Hz.
As earlier hinted, the phone will feature Double Engine Air Cooling technology, which could be similar to the Legion Phone 2 Pro’s Double Turbo Fan Supercharged Liquid Cooling technology. Even during intense gaming sessions, it will keep the insides cool. The gadget is expected to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 SoC, LPDDR5 RAM, and UFS 3.1 internal memory.
2- The Vivo Y21T
Although the Vivo Y21T was unveiled in Indonesia last month, it was previously scheduled to make its debut in India. The phone will go on sale in India on January 3rd, with budget-friendly specifications.
According to the Indonesian variant, the smartphone has a 6.51-inch water-drop notch display with an HD+(1600 x 710 pixels) resolution. It has a 60Hz refresh rate, a 20:9 aspect ratio, and an 89 percent screen-to-body ratio. The Indian variant, on the other hand, will have a slightly larger 6.58-inch FHD+ screen with a refresh rate of 90Hz.
It has a 50MP + 2MP + 2MP triple rear camera system and an 8MP selfie camera on the front. The Snapdragon 680 SoC powers the smartphone, which has 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. It will have 4GB of RAM and the same 128GB onboard storage in India. It comes pre-installed with Android 11 and a 5,000mAh battery.
3- The Realme GT 2
Realme is expected to launch its flagship for the year, the Realme GT 2 series, later this month. The series will include two major phones, the GT 2 and the GT 2 Pro, as well as a master edition and a camera-focused phone on January 4.
The Realme GT 2 was recently spotted on TENAA, sporting a 6.62-inch AMOLED display with FHD+ resolution and a refresh rate of 120Hz. The GT 2 Pro was also spotted with a 6.7-inch QHD+ AMOLED screen and a refresh rate of 120Hz. The pair will have a fingerprint scanner built into the display.
The GT 2 will be powered by the Snapdragon 888 SoC, while the GT 2 Pro will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset. The series is expected to include a large battery with a 65W fast charging capability. In terms of cameras, the Pro will have a 50MP + 50MP + telephoto sensor, whereas the vanilla may have a 50MP + 8MP + 2MP setup.
4. iQOO 9, 9 Pro
The iQOO 9 series will be officially launched in China on January 5th. The iQOO 9 and 9 Pro are part of the series, and both are powered by the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC. The standard phone is expected to have a 6.78-inch FHD+ flat-screen AMOLED panel with a refresh rate of 120Hz, while the Pro is expected to have a 6.78-inch QHD+ curved-edged AMOLED LTPO screen with a refresh rate of 120Hz.
The series will include a Samsung GN5 sensor and possibly a triple camera system. The Pro was recently rumored to have a 50MP secondary sensor from Samsung and a 16MP telephoto lens. The series is expected to include a 4,700mAh battery with support for 120W fast charging.
5- The Vivo V23
On January 5, Vivo will unveil the Vivo V23, India’s first color-changing phone. Surprisingly, the color of the phone’s back changes in direct sunlight and UV light. The V23 and V23 Pro are supposed to debut with a 50MP Autofocus Dual Selfie camera, and one of the phones may have a 108MP lens.
The phone’s specifications are scarce, but we do know that it will have an AMOLED display and a mid-range processor. The Pro model was discovered on Geekbench to be equipped with a MediaTek Dimensity 1200 SoC.
6- Xiaomi 11i, HyperCharge 11i
On January 6, Xiaomi will unveil the Xiaomi 11i HyperCharge in India. Rumors suggest that the phone will be a rebadged model of the Redmi Note 11 Pro+ (Chinese model) with minor changes for the Indian market.
The Xiaomi 11i HyperCharge will have a 6.67-inch Samsung AMOLED display with FHD+ resolution and a refresh rate of 120Hz. The MediaTek Dimensity 920 SoC will power it, along with up to 8GB of LPDDR4x RAM and UFS 2.2 storage. It is expected to have a triple camera setup of 108MP, 8MP, and 2MP. The phone will have a 4,500mAh battery and a 120W fast charging technology.
7- Realme 9i
The Realme 9i is expected to be released in Vietnam on January 10th. The smartphone has been spotted on certification sites, sporting a Snapdragon 680 SoC and a 5,000mAh battery. It is also supposed to support 33W fast charging.
The phone will have a 6.6-inch LCD punch-hole display with FHD+ resolution and a refresh rate of 90Hz. It is said to have a 50MP + 8MP + 2MP triple camera system as well as a 16MP selfie camera. In terms of security, it will have a fingerprint scanner on the side. The device is expected to ship with Android 11 and Realme UI 2.0.
8- OnePlus 10 and OnePlus 9RT
The OnePlus 10 series is one of the most anticipated phone launches. The phone, which will have flagship-level internals, is expected to be released in the second week of this month. According to recent reports, the series will premiere in China on January 11th.
The OnePlus 10 duo is expected to have an AMOLED screen with a fast refresh rate. According to rumors, the Pro will have a 6.7-inch QHD+ AMOLED display with a refresh rate of 120Hz. 9. Samsung Galaxy S21 FE
The Samsung Galaxy S21 FE will finally be released this month, following a slew of leaks. Although we don’t know when the phone will be available, it has been listed in a number of retail stores around the world. The phone will also be available in India later this month.
The phone will have a 6.4-inch AMOLED display with FHD+ resolution and a refresh rate of 120Hz. It will have a triple rear camera system of 12MP, 12MP, and 8MP, as well as a 32MP selfie lens. It will be powered by the Snapdragon 888 SoC in some markets, while the Exynos 2100 SoC will be used in others, including India. It will have a 4,500mAh battery and support for 25W fast charging.
