The initiative was launched at NADRA headquarters in the presence of NADRA Chairman Muhammad Tariq Malik, Jazz CEO Aamir Ibrahim, and JazzCash Interim CEO Murtaza Ali.
Citizens can now pay the fee for ID card processing or other identity documents digitally in real-time via their JazzCash app. This collaboration was formed to provide citizens with convenience and payment security, and it is a significant step toward a digital and documented economy, in line with the vision of Pakistan’s Prime Minister and the State Bank.
NADRA Chairman Tariq Malik stated,
“A digital payments system offers a large number of customers simple and easy payment options.” Every day, around 100,000 people visit NADRA centers. While pivoting towards a Digital Pakistan, the goal of digitalizing payment systems is to bring a large customer base onto the digital net by providing them with an easy and secure mode of payment. While we work hard to achieve our goals of smart governance and improved service delivery, the single goal of NADRA’s digital intervention under my leadership has been to provide facility to the common man.
“JazzCash and NADRA have a long history of collaboration, and today’s announcement is another step toward digitizing critical public services.” As the world’s largest digital mobile wallet, we believe it is our national duty to assist the government in transitioning to a cashless economy, making strategic alliances critical. This collaboration will help our fellow citizens by allowing digital payments against NADRA services, making transactions more secure and convenient,” said Murtaza Ali, Interim CEO of JazzCash.
This is an extension of the two organizations’ long-standing collaboration. Previously, JazzCash collaborated with NADRA to collect vaccination certificate fees, completing millions of transactions.
