Government Planning to Launch Ehsaas Petrol Cards for Motorcyclists

According to The News, the government intends to introduce Ehsaas Petrol Cards for motorcyclists, which will allow them to purchase fuel at a discounted rate.

According to Daily Pakistan, Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue Shaukat Tarin presided over a meeting of the Macro-Economic Advisory Group (MEAG) on Thursday at the Finance Division.

Subsidized fuel, tax benefits, increased income/minimum wages, internships (for educated unemployed), and economic reforms, particularly in the energy sector, were all discussed at the meeting.

Finally, boosting business confidence, removing bureaucratic barriers, and ensuring consistent monetary policy were discussed in order to build on the growth momentum of 5.6 percent GDP growth, 15% increase in exports, over 10% increase in remittances, and record tax collection.

The government also plans to raise the pay of public sector employees in the upcoming fiscal year 2022-23.

Despite a statement by the Pakistan Institute of Development Economics (PIDE) demonstrating that top Pakistani officials are better paid and pampered than UN staff, no consideration is given to monetizing bureaucratic benefits and advantages.

The meeting was attended by the NPHDA Chairman, the President of the Bank of Punjab, the Chairman of the SECP, Dr. Amjad Saqib, Founder of the Akhuwat Foundation, and other top executives.
