We’re all aware that Changan’s new SUV is on its way to town. After experimenting with three different models, the company has narrowed it down to one. When we first saw sketches of Changan’s upcoming SUV, we thought it was the Oshan X7 Plus. The car’s leaked images later confirmed our suspicions. The X7 Plus has now been spotted for the first time on Karachi’s roads.
Specifications and Features
Changan Pakistan has yet to reveal the official specifications and features of the upcoming SUV. However, we anticipate that the locally assembled X7 Plus will have similar features to the international model.
The Changan Oshan X7 Plus, as the name implies, is the most recent version of the X7 SUV. It is powered by Changan’s newest Blue Whale 1.5L turbocharged engine, which generates 178 horsepower and 300 Nm of torque. Changan claims that the SUV has the same fuel efficiency as a sedan, averaging about 14 km/L.
In China, the X7 Plus is available as a 5-seater SUV. Pakistan, on the other hand, may get an exclusive 7-seater version. If this occurs, it will be the only vehicle with a configurable seating configuration.
Competition
Changan’s upcoming SUV will compete with the Toyota Fortuner and the Kia Sorento.
The Official Launch
According to our sources, the Changan Oshan X7 Plus will be released in the first quarter of 2022. That means the official launch will take place in less than a month.
The most exciting aspect of the X7 Plus launch is that it will be Pakistan’s first ‘global launch’ of any vehicle. As a result, Pakistan will be the first country outside of China to receive this Changan SUV.
