NCOC Launches Door to Door Campaign to Vaccinate People Against COVID-19

The National Command and Operation Center (NCOC) launched a door-to-door vaccination campaign against COVID-19 on Tuesday.

Minister for Planning and Development Asad Umar told a news conference in Islamabad on Tuesday, alongside Special Assistant on National Health Services Dr. Faisal Sultan, that the first phase of the campaign will see 50,000 mobile teams vaccinate people at their homes over the next two months.

In the first phase, 35 million people are expected to be vaccinated, according to him.

In terms of vaccination data, the Minister stated that eighty million people have been fully vaccinated, while ten million others have received a single dose. According to him, 2.6 million people received the booster shot as well.

The Minister emphasized once more that vaccination is the only way to avoid COVID-19.
According to Asad Umar, during the current fifth wave of COVID-19, people in areas with a high vaccination rate have minor symptoms of the disease.

Dr. Faisal Sultan, who spoke at the event, urged people to welcome mobile vaccination teams into their homes and get vaccinated.

He also stated that fully vaccinated individuals should receive a booster dose six months after their vaccination. He stated that the booster, like the first two doses, is also free.
