The glare of a white background can be annoying when you spend a lot of time looking at screens. As a result, enabling dark mode can be beneficial, and it may even save battery life. On YouTube, you can enable dark mode on the desktop site as well as the iPhone and Android mobile apps.

- Go to the YouTube website and, if required, login to your account.
- Select Appearance: Device theme from the drop-down menu that appears when you click your profile icon in the top-right corner of the screen.

If you have dark mode enabled in your Android system settings, the YouTube app should be dark mode by default. However, you can enable dark mode only for the YouTube app from the YouTube settings:
