Government to Distribute free Tablets among Students, Teachers

The government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) has decided to launch a free tablet program for deserving students and teachers.

According to KP Education Secretary Ashfaq Ahmed, the province will provide 23,000 iPads to deserving students and teachers. He also revealed that the free tablet initiative will cost Rs1 billion.

According to Education Secretary KP Ashfaq Ahmed, the entire project will cost Rs. 1 billion and will be formally launched once the provincial government allocates the necessary funds.

Last year, the KP government approved the recruitment of teachers for more than 25,000 vacant positions in the province’s schools and colleges. These posts were recently approved.

Shahram Khan Tarakai, the KP Minister for School and Elementary Education, reviewed the progress of all projects earlier this week and directed that hiring begin after the vacancies were advertised.

During the meeting, the Minister also directed relevant stakeholders to ensure that all schools and colleges in the merged districts have the necessary furniture.
