Realme to launch world’s fastest smartphone charging technology on Feb 28

The Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2022 is exactly one week away. The trade show will begin on February 28th. Realme will hold a press conference on the same day to announce its latest flagship smartphone, the Realme GT2 Pro, for international markets.

Today, the company announced that it will also be introducing a new charging technology at this event.

Realme has revealed plans to launch the “world’s fastest smartphone charging technology” on February 28 in a press release sent to the media. Unfortunately, the brand hasn’t shared any details about this technology, other than the fact that, as part of the go premium strategy, it will invest 70% of its R&D resources in innovation and charging technology.

Nonetheless, the company suggests that the new technology will be faster than its 125W charging technology, which has been in use for a year. But we’ll have to wait a week to find out how fast.

Rumor has it that realme will introduce a 150W fast smartphone charging technology. According to renowned tipper Digital Chat Station, this technology is a rebadged version of OPPO’s upcoming 160W fast smartphone charging technology, but it is 10W lower. Despite the fact that it is slightly slower, it will use the same charger.

We’re not sure why Realme is billing its upcoming 150W smartphone charging technology as the “world’s fastest,” given that Xiaomi debuted a 200W charging solution last year that can charge a 4,000mAh battery in 8 minutes.
