Oppo is planning to launch two new unique smartphones later this year, according to a well-known Weibo (a Chinese microblogging website). The clamshell design is expected to be used on these rumored handsets.
According to Digital Chat Station, the Chinese smartphone manufacturer intends to release additional foldable smartphone models following the release of its Find N. According to reports, sales of the brand’s first foldable offering were higher than expected.
As a result, it intends to launch two new models as well. One of these will have the clamshell design, while the other will be a higher-end variant with a larger display than the Find N.
For those who are unaware, the Find N was released in December 2022. Furthermore, according to the tip, this higher-end model will be priced at around 10,000 Yuan (approximately 1,583 US Dollars). In other words, it will be even more expensive than the Find N, which was one of the least expensive phones in the foldable handset segment.
Notably, Digital Chat Station has also revealed that the display on this upcoming premium handset will be a rollable panel. In other words, it could be designed similarly to the OPPO X 2021 rollable phone concept, which was the world’s first smartphone with an extending display.
Because of its 6.8mm Roll Motor and flexible OLED panel design, it can extend its display from 6.7 to 7.4 inches. Keep in mind that this is still unconfirmed news, so take it with a grain of salt for the time being. However, if the company is successful in launching this device, it will be the first mass-produced commercial model of a rollable phone.
