Mark Zuckerberg Confirms NFTs are Coming to Instagram

According to The Daily Beast, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg has announced that non-fungible tokens (NFTs) will now be available on the social media platform.

According to The Verge, NFTs allow users to buy and sell ownership of digital items while using the blockchain to keep track of who owns what.

Despite being a relatively new concept, NFTs have recently gained a lot of popularity, with some people making millions of dollars.

During a Metaverse discussion, Zuckerberg hinted at the arrival of NFTs on Instagram.

The Meta CEO, on the other hand, did not reveal much about the plan.

“I’m not ready to announce exactly what that is today,” he said, “but over the next several months, [people] will be able to bring some NFTs in, and hopefully over time, be able to mint things within that environment.”

Zuckerberg intends to further transform Instagram and Facebook into shopping platforms, claiming that he purchased the majority of his “stuff” through advertisements on these platforms.
