We’ve got some exciting news for Hyundai fans in the house. Next month, a 1.6-liter Hyundai Elantra will be available. The 1.6L Elantra will compete with the lower variants of the Corolla and Civic, as well as the top variants of the Yaris and City.
In March 2021, Hyundai-Nishat debuted its first C-segment sedan. Hyundai sold 2,784 Elantras in a year, according to PAMA sales figures. From 46 sales in March 2021 to 312 sales in February 2022, the new sedan has come a long way. In just one year, there has been a 578 percent increase.
Elantra, on the other hand, could have had better sales and success if buyers had more variants to choose from. For the past year, there has been a single 2.0L Hyundai Elantra GLS variant available alongside 1.6L, 1.8L Corolla, and 1.5L, 1.8L Civic variants.
Finally, the company has decided to launch another Elantra variant, which we believe is long overdue.
What will the new variant share with the old one? What will be different this time? To begin, everything under the hood will be different from the current variant. Aside from that, the 1.6L variant will be identical to the 2.0L variant. Minor changes will be made inside the cabin, such as the instrument cluster and the infotainment screen.
Price of 1.6L Elantra
Because the 1.6L is a lower variant, it will be less expensive than the current Elantra GLS. We anticipate that Hyundai will price the 1.6L Elantra similarly to the 1.6L Corolla Altis, i.e., around Rs. 35 lacs.
