PM to launch Electronic Passport Facility in Islamabad today

Today in Islamabad, Prime Minister Imran Khan will inaugurate the Electronic Passport Facility (Wednesday). The electronic passport will be equipped with the most up-to-date biometric chip, which will include several security features.

The electronic passport, which is compliant with international standards, will aid Pakistani citizens in obtaining a visa quickly and easily while traveling. Because of the use of modern technology, counterfeiting an electronic passport is impossible.

Imran Khan, the Prime Minister of Pakistan, will also speak at the event.

Rashid announced on Twitter that the new biometric passport will include an electronic chip.
According to the minister, the new passport includes 29 new and modern security features, which is “a significant upgrade since 2004.”

According to Rashid, an e-Passport can be used to access the e-gate facility at all international airports around the world.

The introduction of the e-passport is a momentous occasion. Pakistan would become one of many countries to issue an e-passport with a chip embedded in the data page as part of its efforts to improve security and facilitate international travel for its citizens.
