NA Deputy Speaker Rejects No-Confidence Motion, PM Survives

On Sunday, Deputy Speaker NA Qasim Suri rejected Prime Minister Imran Khan’s no-confidence motion, calling it a “foreign conspiracy.”

The National Assembly’s crucial session, convened to vote on Prime Minister Imran Khan’s no-confidence motion, was presided over by deputy speaker NA Qasim Suri.
The session began with the Holy Quran being read aloud. The session is being chaired by Deputy Speaker Qasim Suri.

Law Minister Fawad Chaudhry raised the legal aspects of the move at the start of the session, calling it a foreign conspiracy to overthrow Pakistan’s government.

The no-confidence motion was later rejected by the deputy speaker, who declared it to be against Pakistan’s constitution and adjourned the house indefinitely.

Opposition’s reaction

The opposition leaders have staged a sit-in in protest of deputy speaker NA Qasim Suri’s actions. The chairman of the PPP has asked the Supreme Court to look into the matter.

PM Imran’s address to the nation 


In his address to the nation following the rejection of the no-confidence motion against him, Prime Minister Imran Khan congratulated the nation. President Arif Alvi has been advised to dissolve the assemblies, according to Prime Minister Imran Khan.

He encouraged citizens to get ready for the next election.
