Lumpy Skin Disease: Saudi Arabia Bans Beef Import From Pakistan

Saudi Arabia banned the import of beef from Pakistan, citing an outbreak of Lumpy Skin Disease (LSD) in the country that has affected livestock.


According to Ministry of Food Security officials, the Kingdom has imposed a beef ban due to LSD. The officials went on to say that the Saudi authorities made the decision in the best interests of their people.

The Saudi Arabian Embassy Press Attaché told Geo News that the country has temporarily banned the import of beef from Pakistan. It is worth noting that LSD has spread throughout the country, particularly in Sindh, including Karachi, killing thousands of livestock.
