PM Shebaz Sharif Cancels Two Day Weekly Off in Govt Offices

After taking office on Tuesday, newly-elected Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif canceled two weekly off days in government offices, and government employees will now have only one weekly off day.

Shehbaz Sharif, the prime minister, also announced changes to office hours, with government offices now opening at 8 a.m. rather than 10 a.m.

PM Shehbaz Sharif also issued directives for the implementation of the relief measures he announced in the National Assembly yesterday.

He has directed concerned authorities to ensure strict monitoring of Sasta Bazaars during Ramadan in order to ensure that people receive quality items at reduced prices.

“No laxity in this regard will be tolerated,” the prime minister declared.

PM Sharif also directed that the announcements regarding pension increases and an Rs25,000 minimum wage be implemented immediately.

The prime minister told the PM Office staff, “We have come to serve the masses, and no moment will be wasted.” Our guiding principles are honesty, transparency, diligence, and hard work.”

Earlier in the day, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, who took oath as the Islamic Republic of Pakistan’s 23rd Prime Minister last night, was greeted with a guard of honor upon his arrival at PM House in Islamabad.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif inspected the guard of honor as the armed forces saluted him.
