The flagship S22 series was recently introduced in Pakistan with the release of the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra edition. However, the base Galaxy S22 was not announced until now. It is currently available for pre-order on the Samsung Pakistan website.
Samsung is including a free pair of Galaxy Buds2 and a year of Samsung Care+ with each pre-order. The pre-registration period will end on May 15, after which the Samsung Galaxy S22 will begin shipping on May 16. It is available in a single 8GB+256GB configuration. There are four soft satin matte colors to choose from Pink Gold, Black, Green, and White.
For the Galaxy S22, Samsung chose a compact, pocketable design. The S22 has a small footprint, with a screen that measures only 6.1″, a weight of only 167g, and a thickness of 7.6mm. The screen delivers on the flagship promise, with Gorilla Glass Victus+, 1300 nits of eye-popping brightness, glare protection, a refresh rate of 120Hz, and a resolution of 1080P.
The backplate is also toughened with Gorilla Glass Victus+ and dust and is water-resistant to IP68 standards. Surround sound is provided by AKG-tuned stereo speakers on Samsung’s latest model. Below the display is an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner (the kind that works even with wet fingers). The small 3700 mAh battery inside the Galaxy S22 is powered by a 25W rapid charger. In addition, Samsung has extended software support to four years.
Finally, we examine the camera system. A 50MP f/1.8 OIS-assisted wide camera, a 10MP OIS 3x telephoto shooter, and a 12MP ultra-wide unit comprise the rear lens cluster.
Behind the front camera is a 10MP image sensor. The Galaxy S22 256GB edition costs Rs. 179,999. A 128GB version was released globally, but it is unclear when (or if) it will be available in Pakistan.
