Vivo’s flagship X80 series is making its way to the global market, following its successful debut in China. The Vivo X80 Pro and X80 will make their international debut in Malaysia and will soon be available in Pakistan. Official teasers and landing pages are already available on the Vivo Malaysia website. And we have the launch date to share with you.
The global launch of the Vivo X80 Series will be a virtual event, which comes as no surprise. It is set to take place on May 8, 2022, at 3:00 PM. You can also watch the live stream on Vivo’s Facebook, YouTube, Tiktok, or Twitter pages. Pre-orders will begin in Pakistan shortly after the global announcement.
Vivo obtained the processors for the phones from two separate chipmakers. The Vivo X80 is powered by the 4nm MediaTek Dimensity 9000 SoC. It’s powered by ultra-fast 80W charging technology and is connected to a 4500 mAh battery. There is no wireless charging available. This high-performance hardware is completed by multiple UFS 3.1 storage trims.
We’re looking at a 6.78″ AMOLED screen. It has a maximum brightness of 1500 nits, a resolution of 1080P, and a refresh rate of 120Hz. The edges are adorned with a subtle waterfall design, and an optical fingerprint scanner is housed beneath the panel.
Finally, the camera system was developed in collaboration with ZEISS optics (who also provided a T* lens coating to reduce glare). The primary shooter on the upcoming Vivo price list is an OIS-assisted 50MP shooter, which is paired with two 12MP telephoto and ultra-wide cameras. The setup is completed by a 32MP front-facing camera.
The Vivo X80 Pro is the premium, fully equipped, no-compromise flagship. Its AMOLED screen employs cutting-edge LTPO 3.0 technology to dynamically adjust the 120Hz refresh rate. The resolution is QHD+, the brightness is 1500 nits, and HDR10+ content can be displayed. The dimensions and design are identical to the standard X80, but the fingerprint reader beneath the display is ultrasonic.
