The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) announced Friday (May 6) timings for all banks, development finance institutions (DFIs), and microfinance banks on Thursday.
The time for both public dealing and office timings has been revised, according to a notification issued in this regard.
On Friday, the SBP will hold office hours from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., with a prayer/lunch break from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.
It stated that all banks, DFIs, and MFBs must adhere to these office hours in letter and spirit.
“Furthermore, banks and MFBs may prescribe business (banking) hours for public dealing on the above May 6 in accordance with their business requirements,” according to the statement.
The central bank stated that the business (banking) hours for public dealing observed by SBP Banking Services Corporation (SBP-BSC) field offices will be from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. (without break).
“It should be noted that instructions on regular office hours will be issued later,” the central bank said.
