The Vivo Y55 4G is yet another low-cost phone from the BBK-owned company. The Vivo Y21’s new sibling is the latest in a long line of formulaic entry-level releases under the Y-series branding. Let’s take a quick look at this.
The Vivo Y55 4G features the new camera layout seen in Vivo’s recent flagship phones. The lens cluster is divided into two camera housings and includes 50 MP wide, 2 MP macro, and 2 MP portrait shooters. They have the ability to shoot in double exposure, portrait, and multiple night modes. However, there is no ultra-wide shooting capability.
The housings are supported by a rectangular protrusion. The Vivo Y55 weighs 182g and measures 8.42mm thick. The curved, chamfered casing is available in iridescent white and black.
The display of the new Vivo price list has a U-shaped notch that extends into it. We’re looking at a 6.44″ AMOLED with 1080P resolution and a responsive touch sampling rate of 180Hz. The camera fixed on this screen has a resolution of 16MP. In addition, Vivo has concealed an optical fingerprint scanner beneath this display.
The Vivo Y55 is powered by a 5000 mAh battery and a 44W Flash Charger. Vivo guarantees a 50% recharge in just 28 minutes! A single charge can power up to 18 hours of video streaming or 10 hours of intense gaming.
The low-end Snapdragon 680 chip handles all of the number-crunching. You get 8GB of RAM and 128GB of expandable storage. The Vivo Y55 also comes with the latest Android 12 x FunTouchOS 12. The speakers are single-firing, but a 3.5mm audio jack is included in the frame.
