HAJJ 2022: Govt Launches Dedicated Helpline to Facilitate Applicants

The Ministry of Religious Affairs has established a dedicated Hajj helpline to assist pilgrims who wish to travel to Saudi Arabia to perform the pilgrimage in 2022.

According to APP News, the helpline’s goal is to provide prompt registration, guidance, and resolution of Hajj 2022 pilgrims’ complaints.

According to the report, intending pilgrims can get quick answers to their Hajj-related questions by calling 051-9216980, 051-9216981, 051-9216982, or 051-9205696.

From May 1 to May 13, applications were accepted online and through banks, and token money could be deposited from May 9 to May 13. On May 15, group-based hajj balloting would take place.

According to the policy, pilgrims must be fully vaccinated with a booster dose and undergo a PCR test at least 72 hours before departure to ensure they are coronavirus-free.

Previously, Mufti Abdul Shakoor, Minister for Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony announced that applications for Hajj will be accepted from Sunday to May 13.

Applicants will deposit 50,000 rupees in token money, the minister said at a press conference in Islamabad.

According to Mufti Abdul Shakoor, the total amount of Hajj will be announced once Saudi Arabia confirms it. However, the cost of Hajj this year is expected to be between 70,000 and one million rupees.

According to Mufti Shakoor, the upper age limit for pilgrims has been set at 65 years.
