Vivo X80 5G and X80 Pro Officially landed in Global Markets; Pakistani Launch Set for May 15

Following a typical China-first release in April 2022, the Vivo X80 series made its global debut over the weekend. The Vivo X80 and X80 Pro are featured. The pair has just arrived in Malaysia, and the X80 is on its way to Pakistan. The teasers and promotions can be found on the official Vivo Pakistan website.

The imaging features of the series are the series’ main draw. The X80 camera system was co-designed by Vivo and ZEISS. Vivo’s custom V1+ image processor is paired with the new IMX866 image sensor. Cinematic Video Bokeh enables the anamorphic lens effect, AI Video Enhancement illuminates videos in dark mode, OIS stabilizes them, and preloaded filmmaking LUTs & timelapse capture round out the cinematic videography experience.

Sonarr bokeh, planar bokeh, distagon bokeh, and biotar bokeh are all portrait bokeh modes designed by Zeiss for the X80. Night mode works in tandem with the portrait camera to keep skin tones natural and faces sharp. Finally, the lenses’ Zeiss T* coating prevents ghosting and image artifacts. A cluster of 50MP wide, 12MP ultra-wide, and 12MP telephoto cameras powers everything.

The display is a 6.78″ 1080P, 120Hz AMOLED. It has curved edges, a hole punch for the 32 MP front camera, and an in-display optical fingerprint reader. The Vivo X80 is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 9000 processor, a 4500 mAh battery, and an 80W FlashCharge.

The Vivo X80 is completed by FunTouch OS 12 (based on Android 12), 12GB of RAM, and 256GB of storage. The handset is expected to arrive in Pakistan on May 15 for a price of Rs. 149,999.

Vivo X80 Pro

The Pro is the true showpiece. It’s Vivo’s most expensive flagship, with a 2K LTPO AMOLED display and 1500 nits of eye-popping brightness. The latest Vivo Pro smartphone has the same design as the X80, with the exception of larger dimensions and an additional camera on the back.

The image sensor behind the primary camera is made by Samsung. It has a 50MP camera with advanced OIS. The additional 8MP 5x periscope zoom lens is OIS stabilized as well. And the camera app has all of the same features as the X80.

Vivo X80 Pro

The Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor powers the Vivo X80 Pro, which also has a 4700 mAh battery, an 80W FlashCharge, and 50W wireless charging. Up to 12GB of memory and 256GB of storage are available.

The Pro is available in a single color, Cosmic Black, and costs RM 4,999 (Rs. 214,000). Unfortunately, the Pro will not be available in Pakistan; instead, the standard Vivo X80 5G will be available for RM 3,499 (approximately Rs. 149,999).
