The City Traffic Police, Lahore, has recommended an increase in fines to ensure a smooth flow of traffic in the provincial capital and to discourage motorists from violating traffic rules.
According to CTO Lahore’s recommendation, a minimum Rs.200 fine should be increased to a minimum of Rs.2000 for bikes and Rs.5000 for cars. The following are the specifics of the proposed increase in traffic fines for Lahoris.
Violations of traffic rules for the following reasons can result in a fine of Rs.2000 for bikes and Rs.5000 for cars.
- Incorrect Parking
- Driving without a license
- Driving in Only One Direction
- The incorrect or missing license plate
- Other infractions
- A fine of Rs.5000 can be imposed on vehicles with tinted mirrors.
These fines have not yet been imposed, and only recommendations have been made to DIG Traffic. The only way to avoid such hefty fines is to follow traffic laws.
