Changan Teases Two New Cars for Pakistan

After starting full-scale local assembly of its cars in late 2021, Master Changan Motors Limited (MCML) has hit its stride. Changan Alsvin, the company’s subcompact sedan, is one of Pakistan’s most popular cars, while the Oshan X7 is also getting popularity.

Based on its success and recent achievements, the company plans to expand its lineup in Pakistan by introducing two new crossover SUVs. Despite the fact that the company hasn’t revealed any details, the teaser has revealed a few details about these SUVs.

The teased SUVs are Changan CS35 Plus and Oshan X5, according to a few keen-eyed observers, including carspiritpk.com.

Details

Changan CS35 Plus

In Pakistan, the Changan CS35 Plus will challenge the Chery Tiggo 4 Pro, Kia Stonic, and MG ZS as a subcompact crossover SUV. It has a turbocharged 1.4-liter 4-cylinder petrol engine that produces 158 horsepower (hp) and 260 Newton-meters (Nm), with a 7-speed DCT automatic transmission sending power to the front wheels.

The 2021 facelift of CS35, which includes several cosmetic and other revisions, is expected to be unveiled by MCML. Blind-spot monitoring, a panoramic sunroof, a touch-based infotainment system, automatic climate control, stability control, hill-start assist, parking sensors, and other features are among the many options.

Oshan X5

The Oshan X5 is a compact crossover SUV that will compete against the Kia Sportage, MG HS, Proton X70, Haval Jolion, and Hyundai Tucson. It’s a stylish SUV with a turbocharged 1.5-liter 4-cylinder petrol engine that produces 180 horsepower and 300 Nm of torque through a 7-speed DCT automatic transmission.

In 2020, Oshan X7 launches in China. It’s a high-end SUV with features like smart driver assistance, autonomous braking, blind-spot detection, a smart infotainment system, adaptive cruise control, and more.

Expected Price

Changan has priced both SUVs to compete with mid-range passenger cars in their respective markets. Although MCML has not revealed any information about the new cars, it is safe to assume that the CS35 will cost around Rs. 4 million and the Oshan X5 around Rs. 5 million.

Both SUVs are likely to do well in Pakistan because they are the latest generation SUVs with impressive features and performance.
